Rob of Necrodemon's Reviews

Ginger Snaps : Unleashed (2004)

Not bad. Definitely not as good as the original film but is an ok sequel.

The insane asylum scenes are very interesting and Bridgette's transformation visions were awesome.

Good film overall just not as epic as the first.

Ginger Snaps (2000)

This movie surprised the hell out of me. Good story, good acting, and the two sisters are wicked.

I was impressed with the werewolves and the realism.

Highly recommended. It is a fun movie.

An American Werewolf In Paris (1997)

A bit cheesy but not terrible. This film could have been alot better in the story writing and laying off the comedy bits.

I do like some of the chase scenes and the party near the end of the film to draw in the Americans was cool.

It's just an "ok" film.

Bad Moon (1996)

This film is bad ass! I saw it a very long time ago and was impressed then, only to watch it again recently and was completely enthralled by it.

The creature scenes are awesome. The beginning of the movie just takes the cake for alot of werewolf films. Acting in this story is great.

Skinwalkers (2007)

I was actually very surprised with this film. At first I thought right away of John Carpoenter's Vampires and all the similiarities. I alos thought of Lost Boys. As the film progresses it really picks up and delivers. The story isn't bad at all and the acting is pretty good.

Definitely a good movie.

Howling II, The: Stirba - Werewolf Bitch (1985)

Wow. Here is a film filled with mysticism and sex. More of that than wrewolves. Christopher Lee and Sybil Danning, what a weird combo!

Acting isn't too bad here. Storyline is a bit vague but it works. The scenery in this movie is extraordinary. especially all the old graveyards and gothic buildings.

The creatures in this Howling are pretty cheesy. I was not impressed at all with the actual wolves. The film was entertaining in other aspects though. The debauchery and rituals make up for the lack of wolven terror.

The special effects here are cartoonish and old school as hell. but not terrible.

Wolf Man, The (1941)

The Wolf Prayer! That should say it all.

Bela Lugosi changes into a fully-fledged black wolf. Bad ass.

All of the acting here was top notch at the time as was the story-telling. Even the old special effects such as: the pentagram shadow, all the old school wipes and fades, and the transformation scenes are great. This film may not hold up to special effects and creature costumes of this day and age but definitely holds it's own and is an original. Alot is to be respected for originators.

If your a werewolf addict and lover as I am, you must have this in your collection.

Wolfman, The (2010)

Anthony Hopkins did a great job. He always does in almost every film he is in, but he brought his grade A acting to this set. The scene of him locking himself in the crypt was top notch.

I went into this movie with alot of expectations and was hopeful that I'd be enthralled by it. I was for the most part. The only negative things I can say about the movie are:

Too many times I thought of Bram Stroker's Dracula and Sleepy Hollow

I wish someone other than Benicio Del Toro was casted

Other than that, I loved the film. The chase scenes were intense, the creature was very believable, and the overall dark tone of the film was mystifying. The scene in the classroom when Lawerence transforms and terrorizes was very cool. The gypsy camp scenes were really well thought out and the acting was great. The opening of the film was killer!

This is a good film. It is not classic but very good. I was glad to go to a theater to watch it.

Howling III, The : The Marsupials (1987)

This installment of The Howling series is a joke.

The acting is terrible. The whole feel of this film is lame and cheeseball. I was totally disappointed and disgusted. Why would anyone want to try and blaspheme and make cute, cudly baby wolves?

I am not usually so negative towards any horror film as I can always try to gather something from them, but in this case, it was a total disaster.

More of a comedy from the 80's than anything else.

Howling, The (1981)

This movie has always been a favorite of mine. I saw it as a kid. It gave me chills!

Acting and storylines have always been important to me. This film does well on both fields. I believe these people are scared for their lives and I also believe the wolves are out for blood. I cannot stand Christopher Stone as an actor but in this film he even impressed me.

The creature scenes are bad ass! The wolves are terrifying. Gary Brandner's vision came to life in this film.

Great movie. This film will definitely stand the test of time. Hell, it already has!

Teen Wolf Too (1987)

I was hoping this movie would not be included on this website.

I have to admit, as a teenager I actually could watch the first Teen Wolf and enjoy it. This one is terrible. The first one was at least comical and had a bit of zazz to it. Nothing here but wasted time.

Jason Bateman! Ha Ha! Did he ever do anything good? I don't think so. I had to watch it out of pure curiosity. I lost two hours of my life dammit!

Teen Wolf (1985)

I watched this movie quite a few times when I was in high school. Back then it was funny and all right to watch.

Stiles always made me laugh. The wolf costume isn't terrible. The father's costume is hilarious.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009)

This is a good movie. I saw it in the theater. I have no problem with any of the Underworld movies.

I was glad to see the lycans kick the vampire ass all over the place. I have always said that werewolves are more vicious and brutal than vampires.

The character of Lucian was a bit more evil and terrifying in the other films but I thought this was a great starting point. I do like how he gets the wolves to rise up against their captors.

On another note, my son would lay on the floor drinking his bottle and watch this film when he was a baby. Now that he's 1, he will still watch it as long as he's on my lap!

Wolf (1994)

Jack Nicholson! How can you go wrong? You can't. I was very impressed with this film in the earlier 90's and watched it again recently and still enjoyed it thoroughly. All the acting in this story is good and the filmmakers did a great job with the movement of the wolves.

Although it is alot different than most werewolf films, the storyline is really well though out and I enjoy the twists that this film takes.
