I don't think it's possible for me to give a better plot summary of this movie than the one that is currently on the IMDb front page, which begins, "Tara returns to her ancestral estate only to have her clothes explode off her body and a white light enter her chest." I could expand on it, of course, but if that doesn't hook you then I don't know what will!
Anyway, what we have here is really a very typical softcore horror/erotic thriller affair. In other words there are plenty of long, drawn-out sex scenes which are strung together by the dullest and most meandering of plots. The fact that it is set in Wales shows that the filmmaker is at least familiar with The Wolf Man I suppose (even if does turn out to be a were-panther movie) but that's about where the cinematic literacy ends. The movie also seems to be under the impression that there are still wild wolves around in England and Wales.
The strangest thing of all is that the movie doesn't actually seem to be very interested in the whole were-creature thing. Most of the plot revolves around hidden treasure in the family estate and a dastardly plan by a couple of Tara's old friends to take control of it, all completely unrelated to the fact that she has turned into a supernatural creature.
A lot of reviewers have commented on the ending, and it's true, it is completely random. There's absolutely no resolution - and it's still a bizarre place to end even if they intended to leave the door open for an unlikely sequel. It's as though they were filming the whole thing in sequence and they simply ran out of film, or money, or both. Perhaps the final scene simply went missing.
A hot red head falls victim to an ancient curse. The movie also involves a shady real estate scheme, a bad photographer, a bunch of Romanians acting Welsh and a old man who badly needs a shave constantly telling the red head that she needs to leave town. I wish they focused more on the main character and her dealing with her curse. The movie had a great concept but it fails in the end. The lead actress makes this movie interesting.
Although this movie does contain a few references to wolves, and could easily have been a werewolf movie, the heroine is undeniably a were-panther. The source of her curse is a black panther which was the pet of a gypsy, or something. It could have been interesting if they had tied it in with all these big cat sightings which the UK tabloids seem to love.
When she becomes a were-panther she gains increased senses and heightened reflexes, her eyes turn black and she gets a strange urge to start touching herself. Naturally.
